Together, we envision more climate-resilient agriculture and forestry.
The Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Fellowship was developed and piloted by a diverse team. We started with a curriculum development project that included farmers, agricultural advisors, agency and non-profit staff, University researchers and Extension professionals. Following this phase of the project, a smaller group piloted one part of the curriculum with vegetable and small fruit growers in the Northeast.
Current CAMF programs are being delivered in the Northeast and Midwest regions of the United States. They are led by the University of Maine, the USDA Northeast and Midwest Climate Hubs, and American Farmland Trust with support from collaborators at Rutgers University, the USDA National Agroforestry Center, University of Vermont, Michigan State University Extension, and Cornell University.
PROJECT LEADERSHIP
Our leadership team helps to develop goals and objectives for the CAMF programs, and our and program coordinators oversee program implementation.
CURRICULUM AUTHORS
Contributors to the four Climate Adaptation Fellowship modules framed each module, provided content, and reviewed materials. Their subject matter expertise and their experience with outreach and education strongly informed the approach and content of the Climate Adaptation Fellowship curriculum.
PAST PROJECT COLLABORATORS
Our Curriculum Team provided invaluable guidance to module authors related to best practices in curriculum design and climate education. Two literature review teams produced white papers and manuscripts on peer-to-peer learning and best practices in climate change education for adult audiences. Additionally, collaborators evaluated the curriculum development project, conducted a thorough copyright and permissions review of all curriculum materials, and designed our web and printed materials.
