Janice McDonnell | Curriculum Team Lead
Janice McDonnell is the STEM Agent in the Department of Youth Development at Rutgers University where she focuses on developing and implementing high quality STEM programs for young people. As part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, the department of youth development focuses on providing experiences where young people learn by doing. Kids complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, and citizenship, in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. Kids experience 4‑H in every county and parish in the country—through in-school and after-school programs, school and community clubs and 4‑H camps. Janice’s background is in marine sciences and she has been an educator in the Department of Marine & Coastal Sciences for more than twenty years, focusing on climate change, and marine science education.
Susannah Walsh Daloz | Curriculum Team
At The Food Project in Boston, the Edible Schoolyard in Berkeley, the Conservation Districts of Vermont and at various projects in between, Susie worked to connect people to their food, the land and the endlessly complex world of food systems. As the founding Director of UVM’s Farmer Training Program and in her work with New American farmer training programs around the country, Susie thrived on supporting all aspiring farmers in building knowledge and skills for a career in sustainable agriculture. Susie has a BA from Oberlin College and an MS in Food Systems from UVM. She is currently the Food and Farm Director at the Vermont Youth Conservation Corp (VYCC) where she is honored to continue the transformational work of growing food with VYCC youth while feeding our communities through the Health Care Share Program.
