Daniel Tobin | Project Co-PI, Evaluation Lead
Daniel Tobin is a rural sociologist and evaluation specialist in the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics at the University of Vermont. His research interests broadly focus on how small farmers respond to external factors such as markets, policies, and environmental pressures. He has worked extensively with farmers both domestically and internationally on topics ranging from on-farm food safety to value chain development. He recently conducted a needs assessment for the USDA Northeast Climate Hub on the agricultural sector’s vulnerabilities to and adaptation opportunities for climate change, which included assessments of farmers’ perspectives as well as the research and outreach of land-grant universities in the Northeast. As part of this project, Tobin’s primary responsibilities are monitoring and evaluation to help ensure high quality and relevant curriculum.

Teun Deuling is a graduate student in City and Regional Planning at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, Rutgers University. He graduated cum laude from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) in January 2014 obtaining a degree in Public Policy and Law. He is interested in the interplay of climate change and land use, focusing on how policies and regulatory approaches in land use planning can help achieve results.
Karrah Kwasnik | Digital Content Manager
As Digital Content Manager for the USDA Northeast Climate Hub, Karrah Kwasnik strives to make scientific information more approachable through design and visual storytelling mediums. From virtual farm tours to graphic design, she has helped champion multiple projects from ‘camera to launch.’ For this project effort, Karrah crafted the project’s website and logo, and supplied photography and video.
